Abstract


Purpose: Clinical result of the autotooth bone block and autotooth bone powder was evaluated in a case of implants placement of mandibular horizontal bone loss.

Method: Implants were installed in 54 years old male patient with a left and right molar missing in mandibular. Each bone graft was performed using the autotooth bone block (#45i, 46i, 47i) and autotooth bone powder (#37i) on the buccal bone defect. Autotooth bone blocks were fixed with a screw. And an absorbable membrane was covered with autotooth bone powder and xenograft material in the right site. Autotooth bone powder was applied with xenograft material and titanium mesh in the left site.

Result: The volume of site using autotooth bone block had been well maintained without being absorbed. But, strength of bone was soft. On the other hand, the volume of site using autotooth bone power had been reduced. But, strength of bone was hard.
